Template:Kart-infobox The Turbo Yoshi is a kart from the Mario Kart series. As what the name suggests, the kart is modeled after Yoshi.

History

Mario Kart series

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

The Turbo Yoshi in action

The Turbo Yoshi debuts in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! as Yoshi's kart. It is a middleweight vehicle that displays low speed, with two stars, but has good acceleration, weight, with three stars, (slightly tougher than other middleweight karts) and steering. Its overall stats are the same as the Heart Coach, except that it is as heavy as the Waluigi Racer and has a smaller acceleration.

Despite the stats shown in-game, the Turbo Yoshi's four-star acceleration is nowhere near as good as the other four star acceleration karts, only being tied with the Heart Coach's acceleration. Also, both the Heart Coach and Turbo Yoshi accelerate the slowest of all the four star acceleration karts, but they also have the highest top speeds of all the two star speed karts.

The Turbo Yoshi, Turbo Birdo, Toad Kart, and Toadette Kart share the same engine sound.

Mario Kart Tour

The Turbo Yoshi returns in Mario Kart Tour, being classified as a Super kart. However, the kart no longer has another handlebar, and the handlebar joints have been moved to the back to make room for the driver's emblem. Instead of a small platform for a second person to stand on, the rear of the kart curls upward slightly to resemble Yoshi's tail. The now unusable platform is still behind the seat, which has been made bigger. It uses a black version of its original tires. Performing Jump Boosts will provide more points and a longer speed boost when using this kart. The game introduces red and blue variants named the Red Turbo Yoshi and Blue Turbo Yoshi respectively, which are also classified as Super karts. It also introduces a white variant named the White Turbo Yoshi, which, unlike the Turbo Yoshi, is classified as a High-End kart.

As well as being normally available in the Shop's pipes and Daily Selects, the Turbo Yoshi was part of the Eggshell Glider Pack in the 2020 Yoshi Tour alongside the Eggshell Glider.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The Turbo Yoshi appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Advanced-class support spirit. When used, it occupies one support slot and raises the fighter's item-throwing power during a battle. The spirit is only obtainable from Funky Kong's Shack, where it costs 1,000 Spirit Points at regular price.
