Slipstreaming (also known as Drafting) is a technique often used in the Mario Kart series. It is present in Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mario Kart Tour . If a player trails behind another racer (or tailgating) for a certain period of time, the player's vehicle will receive a speed boost similar to the Mini-Turbo. Slipstreaming is also useful when another player has been shrunk by Lightning or the Thunder Cloud, and also when they are hit by the POW Block or Spiny Shell.
