Stop forcing that edit back into Foreman Spike's page. Bowser Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 10:35, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

I don't understand what I did wrong. I did not plagiarize anything (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrecking_Crew_(video_game)), I was asked to use a different text, I used reliable sources to validate the content, so I did. My first edits here and I already get threatened of block. The topic is about Foreman Spike so I write in the Foreman Spike article. Is this personal? Donkey Yusuf (talk) 10:44, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

See my edit summary from when I reverted it the latest time, that had nothing to do with plagiarism but lots of other issues I found with the section. The last warning is also for edit warring (forcing the same edit back after it's been reverted multiple times). Bowser Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 10:49, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

It has been reverted more than once (maybe multiple is a little exaggerated) because they contradicted themselves everytime, first time they said I plagiarized from Wikipedia, and that was true only in a little part, second time I completely rewrote the text and added new sources, and even in that case I was accused of plagiarism, even after I suggested to see for themselves that it wasn't true, and the topic is about Foreman Spike and legacy, where should I edit then? Plus, even the gallery adds have been reverted and I really don't know why. That's why I think it may be personal. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 10:56, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

How do you explain this, Swallow? Donkey Yusuf (talk) 11:17, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

This is not a personal thing, all it is others including myself don't agree with the content of the edits and don't think it should remain on the page, that is a very common thing on this wiki. The images you added in the gallery are present in other parts of the article already. I'd also say three times is enough to say "multiple". Bowser Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 11:27, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

It wasn't wrong to readd the renders of Spike in the section specifically focused on the gallery and with descriptions, I find it right. Plus, Swallow, if the users or administrators contradict themselves everytime, even when the "incriminated" user is following their indications on how to or not to do that, of course said user feels personally attacked and a dose of hypocrisy and has to fear for threats of block, even when he/she's in totally good faith. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 11:36, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

Waluigi Time, would you please give me an example in the main and canon Mario series where Peach is portrayed as a skilled combatant other than Super Smash Bros. series, please? Donkey Yusuf (talk) 13:48, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

First of all, per MarioWiki:Canonicity we treat all media equally and don't attempt to adhere to any sort of canon since Nintendo has never established one. Anyway, SMB2, Mario RPG, the Super Mario Adventures comic (all predating Melee), Super Paper Mario, Super Princess Peach, 3D World, and the Mario + Rabbids games are all notable examples. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 14:22, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

And Peach was portrayed in any of these games as a martial artist, Waluigi Time? Because that was what I meant. And yes, there is a main, if not canon, series of Mario games, and most of the ones you listed (like the Mario Adventures comic and Mario + Rabbids) are spin-offs of that main series. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 15:02, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

I haven't played all of those games so I can't say for sure. Like I said in my edit summary, Peach being a capable fighter wouldn't be a Smash reference in itself, but her use of moves from the series (and possibly fighting style in general, if it's inspired by the games enough) would be a reference. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:03, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

I played all the game you listed, Waluigi Time, and she's not in any of those a martial artist like she is in the film and in the Super Smash Bros. series. The fact that she is a martial artist and fights like she does in the SSB series are clear references to the SSB series. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 18:34, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

I've never played a Smash game so correct me if I'm wrong, but don't nearly all characters fight like "martial artists" in those games? Bowser Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 18:44, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

Yes, well, kind of, other characters fights in bizarre and cartoonish ways, but even Mario in the main series is not such a skilled combatant, he fights that way only in SSB, in fact in the film many of his combat moves are taken from SSB too, all you have to do, Swallow, is watch some videos on YouTube if you don't wanna play to find out. Even DK is much more limited in his main series than he is in SSB (or also Jungle Beat, at most), in fact many of his moves in the film are directly taken from SSB. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 18:58, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

I don't think the ability to engage in skilled physical combat is necessarily a reference to a particular game series. Cat Mario has a much more versatile moveset in the movie compared to the games, and I'm sure Mario has physically fought in other media such as Super Mario-kun, which predates Super Smash Bros. Yes, but generally Mario (even with power-ups) isn't shown as this skilled combatant, that trait has been introduced in the SSB series, same for other characters (like Peach and Donkey Kong, and Peach certainly isn't portrayed as a martial artist in the rest of the franchise), and the fact that they use movesets in the film taken from the SSB series should be a confirmation of that. I mean, there is an entire relevant section/part dedicated to another Mario spin-off series, Mario Kart. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 21:30, April 25, 2023 (EDT)
Sure while Mario and co are not normally in more intricate combat before Super Smash Bros. but I don't think Super Smash Bros. is necessarily the series that owns the idea of Mario fighting. If Mario adopted several stances that are striking in similarity to any animation from Super Smash Bros. (such as the idea that his fisting into a cut-out in a trailer is his meteor smash from Smash Bros) then I can see the reference but for now I'm seeing just action to entertain movie goers. I'd like Smash Bros references in the movie but I didn't catch any and I've sunk thousand+ hours in every Smash installment. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. Wait a minute, my last edit at Foreman Spike has been reverted (and, of course, unfairly, starting with the fact that they forgot that Peach/Toadstool has always been first of all a Japanese character), but it doesn't appear in my chronology that it has been reverted. Last warn overturned[edit]

We had some staff discussion about the decisions made here and came to an agreement that the lastwarn was made in haste. We also agreed that the edit dispute does not constitute an edit war (it does not violate 3RR; see here for a generally agreed term on what constitutes edit warring) and it was followed up with alteration of the content[3] to indicate that an attempt at avoiding plagiarism has been made. A talk page comment should've been brought first concerning the rest of the content rather than the warning template. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. Thank you for letting me know, I appreciate the honesty. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 21:31, April 25, 2023 (EDT)

Mega Guy[edit]

I have seen the scene in question (only video I can find for reference) and I don't see any large Shy Guys. The only ones present are the same size as the ones seen throughout the movie. If they appeared big, it would be because of how close they were towards the camera, and it wouldn't be to the scale of Mega Guys anyway. Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 10:13, June 6, 2023 (EDT)

Please, look more carefully and in slow motion the scene in this video at minute 3:47 or 48, you can clearly see a Shy Guy that is the same size of the Hammer Koopas charging alongside and next to him, much taller than the regular Shy Guys seen in the movie: https://youtu.be/QyqXcQx5J2Q Donkey Yusuf (talk) 20:17, June 6, 2023 (EDT)

That's the main one I'm referring to, and in the side view, it's only just over half the height of the Hammer Bro to the left of it, the same as in the previous scene in the video I linked (when they're attacking Spike). Also compare with the Buzzy Beetle to its right, which is consistent with the one being chased in the official trailer. The reason it'd almost look as tall as the Hammer Bro is because the latter is on a different lane closer to the camera. Again, even if they're just slightly bigger, I still wouldn't classify them as "Mega Guys". Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:12, June 6, 2023 (EDT)

Stop adding this information back in without continuing to discuss this. Even if it's a different page, this is the same information I already explained to you why it would be false. I said "even if" it was bigger but still think it's the same size and only appear slightly different due to depth. Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:13, June 9, 2023 (EDT)

It's not because of the depth, and I didn't do anything wrong, since the information is about the common Shy Guy, that only Shy Guy charging is clearly bigger than the ordinary ones, it is the same size of a big Hammer Koopa. Donkey Yusuf (talk) 06:46, June 10, 2023 (EDT)

And I've already explained why that's not the case, and you readded the same information to the article multiple times (after you were already reminded for edit-warring) without a counterargument elaborating how it's "not because of the depth" and it is actually bigger (an image would even be helpful here). But now you're comparing to a "big Hammer Koopa" (I'm assuming you're referring to Sledge Bros), which is clearly much larger than the Shy Guy.
