Five Spike Koopas guarding Bowser's treasure hoard.

Spike Koopas[1] are short Koopa Troopas found only in Mario Party, appearing exclusively in the minigame Key-pa-Way. Their role is to prevent all four characters from unlocking the door to the Treasure Chest. If a character comes in contact with one, he or she will be stunned or drop the Bowser Key. Luckily, they can be easily avoided by jumping and tossing the Bowser Key.

They are probably minions of Bowser, as they are seen guarding the Bowser Key. In the minigame, there is also a barrel with Bowser's head stamp in front of the locked door, indicating the Spike Koopas are protecting Bowser's stash.
