Rotating defense mechanism
The rotating defense mechanism[1] is a green obstacle that appears in Secret Flower Field Entrance in the Wooded Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. It consists of four spinning circular pannels with a Bowser symbol on them, which are required to be destroyed in order to enter Secret Flower Field.
The rotating defense mechanism slowly and continuously spins counterclockwise until all four pannels are destroyed. When Mario approaches it, it starts to launch rolling metal balls that also have a Bowser symbol on them. The balls get launched from the hole in the center of this mechanism. The pannels can be destroyed by shooting in them while capturing Sherm. After all four pannels are destroyed, the mechanism stops and then breaks, revealing a Power Moon "Path to the Secret Flower Field" and opening the gate to Secret Flower Field.
The rotating defense mechanism is a part of the story mission Path to the Secret Flower Field.
