Swirlwind
Template:Quote2 Template:Species-infobox A Swirlwind is a tornado-like obstacle that appears in two levels of Donkey Kong Land. They first appear in Snake Charmer's Challenge, although they are only featured briefly. They later appear in another level with their name, Swirlwind Storm, where they are the main obstacle and feature.
Swirlwinds are unique in that they move while Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong bounce on them. They continue following the Kongs before eventually falling into a pit. Although they are an obstacle, Swirlwinds are more advantageous to the Kongs, who can bounce on Swirlwinds to reach higher areas, out of reach items, and even a Bonus Level. If the Kongs touch the side of Swirlwind, they take damage. Swirlwinds may also cause the Kongs to fall in an abyss when it drops down into one. Swirlwinds sometimes obscure a nearby item, such as a K-O-N-G Letter.
