Swirlwind

A Swirlwind is a Tornado-like obstacle that appears in Donkey Kong Land. They first appear in Snake Charmer's Challenge, where they only appear in briefly. They later appear in another level with their name, Swirlwind Storm, of which they are the main obstacle and feature.
Swirlwinds are unique obstacles in that they move while the Kongs bounce on it. They continue following the Kongs in the level, up until falling into a pit. Despite being an obstacle, Swirlwinds are more advantageous to the Kongs, who can bounce on them to reach higher areas, out of reach items, and even a Bonus Level. However, if Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong touch the side of Swirlwind, it can deal damage to them. Swirlwinds may also cause the Kongs to fall in an abyss when it drops down into one, or even obscure a nearby item, such as a K-O-N-G Letter.
