History

Donkey Kong (Game Boy)

Bird Nest (compressed)

In Donkey Kong for the Game Boy, Bird Nests spawn Hawks in the Forest and Rocky-Valley, Kaibādo in the Jungle, and the crow-like Birds from Donkey Kong Jr. in the Tower.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Nests spawn toy Birds in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, where they first appear in the second world, Donkey Kong Jungle. In the third world, Fire Mountain, they are replaced by fire rings as spawn points for Firebirds; unlike the regular nests, these fire rings can damage the player character upon contact.
