Template:Level Roasting Rails is the fifty-eighth level found in Donkey Kong Country Returns, as well as the third level in the world, Volcano.

Most of this level takes place on a minecart, where the track for the cart is constantly moving. The fire below breaks the rails, causing it to fall into pieces and tilt. Platforms supporting the track are also constantly sinking, rising, and even dipping into the fire. Tiki Torches are spread around the course, along with balls of lava that shoot out of the fire, so Donkey and Diddy Kong must carefully maneuver around them by ducking and jumping. A short potion of the level is also played on land, where platforms continue to split and fall. Some Tiki Tanks appear in these ground areas.

Overview

There are many platforms on this level, along with lava going everywhere. There are not many enemies, but lots of mine carts to ride.

Secrets

K-O-N-G Letters

  • K: When the Kongs start riding in a minecart on some platforms that rise up, the Kongs must jump on a platform quickly to get it.
  • O: The primates then continue riding in a minecart on platforms. When there are no more platforms, the O is above lava. The Kongs need to jump quickly to get it.
  • N: The Kongs are still riding platforms. On the last one, the N and some bananas are floating. They must jump and fall down to get the N.
  • G: The primates ride more platforms and eventually, they climb on a ceiling a couple of times. After that, the Kongs then move on a minecart on platforms that go down like stairs. On the second to last platform there is a G letter. The primates need to jump to get it.

Puzzle Pieces

  1. When the Kongs go in a barrel at the very beginning of the level, they go to s Bonus Stage. If the two primates get all the bananas in time, they will be able to get a Puzzle Piece.
  2. After the primates ride on some more platforms, in the middle, there is a very small one with a Puzzle Piece. After the Kongs get it, they need to jump back up quickly to get in a barrel and shoot themselves back up to a minecart.
  3. Shortly later, there are two thin platforms. The Kongs need to be on the top one, where a Puzzle Piece is located.
  4. The Kongs ride on more platforms with multiple minecarts. After they ride lots of platforms, they climb on ceilings and once they are done on the first one and it completely comes down, if they go back, a Puzzle Piece will be there.
