The Coin Box is an item from Mario Party. This was the first item given when the game began. Its purpose was to store coins and Stars that players acquired at the end of a board game (or Mini-Game Stadium). It did absolutely nothing else. They are similar to Casino Boxes and Lucky Boxes.
