Butterflies are enemies that appear in Donkey Kong 3, being one of the most difficult foes. They appear starting from round 24 (15 in the NES version) and move in random patterns, swooping down on Stanley or taking his flowers. They can also toss spears like Buzzbees and Beespies. Butterflies can easily distract Stanley from his task of defeating Donkey Kong.
