The Snow Kingdom[1] is a location in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The kingdom is an icy island with snowy mountains and a small citadel made of ice, which is inhabited by penguins and the kingdom's ruler, the Penguin King. Prior to Bowser's arrival, the citadel guarded a ? Block that contained a Super Star.
The Snow Kingdom appears at the beginning of the film, where it is invaded by Bowser. When Bowser's Castle and his ship arrive, Bowser demands the penguins to "open the gates or die."
