The Bowser Monument[1] is a giant Bowser Statue in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He is the centerpiece of Bowser's Castle, and he is featured in the course's intro. As the racers drive past him, the Bowser Monument punches the track, sending ripples through it that can be used for tricks. The track splits into two, with the Bowser Monument in the middle of both paths, and his alternatively punches a Dash Panel on each side of the track.
The Bowser Monument also appears in the Grumble Volcano area of the Super Nintendo World attraction Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge,[2] where attendees need to throw shells to destroy it.
The Bowser Monument greatly resembles the other large Bowser Statues from Mario Kart 64 as well as Mecha Bowser from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart Wii, except he is intermixed with lava and punches instead of shooting fire.
