Blood Pines are bouncing, explosive pineapples with laughing faces seen only in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and its Wii enhanced remake. When Donkey Kong approaches one, it latches to the top of his head.

For Tusk bosses, Donkey Kong must pick up a Blood Pine, which is done by clapping when near one, and throw it at the Tusk. Normally they will hit the Tusk's body and explode, dealing minor damage. However, if thrown towards its trunk while the Tusk is inhaling, the Tusk will accidentally suck up the Blood Pine and cause it to blow up in its trunk. When this happens, its heart will be exposed and many Blood Pines will drop; these can themselves be thrown into the heart to deal significant damage. Later on, Blood Pines appear in Iguanagon's Realm, where they are used as weapons against Iguanagon; they also appear under the same circumstances in the Star Fruit Kingdom's level Asteroid Belt. Mini Slump Birds throughout Donkey Kong Jungle Beat also use Blood Pines as weapons. Like the generic pineapples in Donkey Kong 64, these pineapples explode on contact, but also automatically detonate after a few seconds.
