First appearance | Donkey Kong (1994) |
Mario-eating fish[1] are underwater enemies in the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong. They are round predator-like fish and first appear in the Forest in Stage 2-5. Mario-eating fish swim around horizontally, but home in on Mario and try to bite him if he draws near and they face him. If Mario is touched by one of them, he loses a life. Mario-eating fish can only be defeated by hitting them with a throwable object, such as a key.

They'll chase after you, baring their teeth. The Donkey Kong Bukubuku swims through the water with his mouth shaped like a snake. However, when he sees Mario, he suddenly chases after him with a great look on his face. He can't move much up and down, so if you are good at going up or down, you will be fine. | |||||
