The level starts off with Mario on a platform with a small Ladder above it. Mario must head left then jump over a Sir Shovalot so the little knight is on the right side then when it's ready to charge Mario must Duck so he doesn't get crushed and instead get shoved under the wall through a small hole that he can only make it through with the help of the little knight. Then after getting shoved Mario will fall down to the ground with blocks making a mini wall, if Mario goes right then he will make it to a ladder block which if activated he can connect it to the upper starting platform to get back up there if he wants, to get back over the blocks he must do a Handstand Jump or Backflip over the blocks to get to the other side where he must ride the Elevators up to the next platform with the Key. Mario can either ride the elevator up to the right point or handstand jump on the key to reach the Block so he can activate it and place it in the right place so he can jump onto it and handstand jump up to the next platform then he can handstand jump up to a 1 UP Heart for an Extra life then he must safely go back. Up the stairs near the key is where Mario will encounter Aqua Men for the first time and Mario can defeat both of them by picking up one them then throwing it at the other one or use the Hammer right above they're heads and defeat them with that. Once the path is clear Mario must go back and grab the key then bring it over then throw it up to the smaller platform on the right then handstand jump up to the platform then grab the key again then jump over to the long platform, then after that he is introduced to fake doors which if he goes to with the key nothing happens, so the player needs to remember which door Pauline's "HELP! HELP!! HELP!" speech bubble came from. The doors on the right are both wrong and once Mario throws it up to the right side there's no way to get it back down and there are Spikes in the middle preventing him from going to the left side as he will lose a life so he'll have to start over again, so Mario has to throw it up the left side climb up the ladder grab the key then bring it to the real Door on the left to end the level.
Mario starts off on a platform down to the right with the bag just above him. He can collect it immediately, then proceed left to a Sir Shovalot. Mario can get on the left side of the knight, provoke it, and crouch. It will then use its shield to push Mario through a narrow passage allowing him to drop down and collect the hat. He can then jump over the short wall to reach the parasol on the other side, then use the lifts to reach the key. He can throw it at the Aqua Men just ahead to clear them out and find a Hammer. Interestingly enough, if Mario hits the black block near the top of the lifts, it moves a bit to the right, providing a simple shortcut to the goal. Mario can also jump off the black block in its original position to reach a 1 UP Heart above the lift. In the final area, there is a small pit of spikes with two doors on each side. Stage 3-3 is the third level of the Ship in the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong. This level introduces fake doors as well as Aqua Men.

Layout[edit]

However, three of the doors are fake. Mario must enter the leftmost door to complete the level.

Enemies[edit]

 • Bag: As soon as the level starts, Mario can simply jump up to collect the bag.
 • Parasol: On the left side of the small wall, just next to the hat.
