Mario battling Thornies in Mario Clash.

Thorny[1] is a spiked turtle enemy in Mario Clash. They walk left and right on the stage, much like Shellcreepers. Mario can defeat them by throwing a Turtle Shell at them from their sides to stun them first. He can either hit them with a shell again or kick them to finish them off. If he hits them in the face, they change directions.

Official artwork

In their artwork, they resemble a dark green-skinned Spiny with a single row of three retractable spikes on their black shells. In the game, however, they look the same as Spikes, just with darker colors and two extra spikes.
