They are slightly more common in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'' and ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'', appearing below the multicolored tarps in [[Toad Harbor]], along the catwalk leading to the hydroelectric dam in [[Mount Wario]], and in front of [[oil slick]]s in {{classic-link|GBA|Mario Circuit}}; additionally, ice cream cones which function in the same way as traffic cones appear in [[Sweet Sweet Canyon]] after the [[Glide Ramp]] and before the underwater section.
