Mario battling Thornies in Mario Clash.

Thorny[1] is a spiked turtle enemy in Mario Clash. They walk left and right on the stage, much like Shellcreepers. Mario can defeat them by throwing a Turtle Shell at them from their sides to stun them first. He can either hit them with a shell again or kick them to finish them off. If he hits them in the face, they change directions.

In their artwork, they resemble a dark green-skinned Spiny with a single row of three retractable spikes on their black shells. In the game, however, they look the same as the game's version of Spike Tops, just with darker colors and two extra spikes.
