When the fight begins, Kleaver will start launching fireballs at the Kongs. However, every third time, he will throw a barrel instead. Jumping on it will reveal a Kannonball, which can be used to attack Kleaver. Hitting Kleaver will cause him to start chasing the Kongs. They must jump across several Krockheads and get to the other side of the lava pit, where Kleaver will resume throwing fireballs. After the second hit, the Kongs must cross the lava pit again. At this point, Kleaver changes tactics. Instead of throwing fireballs, he will try to stab the Kongs. A Kannon will appear; the Kongs can use it to launch another Kannonball at Kleaver. After that, the process repeats, and one more hit will take down Kleaver. The Kongs are rewarded with a Kremkoin for defeating him.

The active Kong can jump on the barrel to release a kannonball, which they must throw at Kleaver to attack him. This article is about the level in Donkey Kong Land 2. For the similarly-named level in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, see Kleever's Kiln.

Template:Levelbox Kleaver's Kiln is the boss level of Krem Cauldron, the second world of Donkey Kong Land 2. The Kongs must defeat Kleaver in order to reach the third world, Krazy Kremland.

Overview

The battle arena looks very similar as in its Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest counterpart, Kleever's Kiln. The boss level has a ground platform on each side and a large pool of lava in the gap between.

At the start of the battle, Kleever slashes in a fixed position for a few seconds. He then shoots two individual fireballs at Diddy Kong or Dixie Kong and then a barrel. The active Kong can jump on the barrel to release a kannonball, which they must throw at Kleaver to attack him. Krockheads then emerge from the lava, and the active Kong must jump from the Krockheads to reach the rightmost part of the stage. Kleaver then follows after the Kongs. The cycle is repeated another time in the battle.

After taking a second hit, Kleaver horizontally charges itself at the active Kong, who must jump over Kleaver to avoid him. Kleaver then starts to float back and forth in mid-air and a kannon appears. If Diddy or Dixie touch the kannon, it shoots out a kannonball and vanishes. The active Kong should only walk into the kannon right when Kleaver is directly above it. The cycle is repeated another time.

Upon taking his fourth hit, Kleaver is defeated, and the Kongs obtain a Kremkoin.
