==Trivia==
*This wasn't the only DLC planned to tie-in with a car manufacturer. Elon Musk apparently tried to work with Nintendo for a Tesla x Mario Kart 8 DLC, but Nintendo apparently refused to license Tesla with their vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz × Mario Kart 8 is one of three downloadable content packs available for Mario Kart 8, the others being The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8. It was released on August 27, 2014.[1] Unlike the other two downloadable content packs, this pack can be downloaded for free. The kart pieces are part of the base content of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with each part requiring Coins to be unlocked.

Contents

The Mercedes-Benz × Mario Kart 8 pack contains three new karts and one new set of tires, all of which are modeled after actual products manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. Unlike The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8, no new playable characters, cups, courses, bikes, ATVs, or gliders are included in the pack. Unique to this pack is a small icon of the Mercedes-Benz logo that appears to the bottom right of each kart part image when the player is in the process of selecting kart parts before a race.
