(From split of article. Probably should be rewritten so it has consistency, but it is fine for now. Besides, I am doing the other dream events and they are fine as they are right now. At least I should add the event template.)

Template:Event-infobox Dream Fencing appears as an event in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It is very different compared to the first game, as players run on a three-dimensional plane instead of a two-dimensional plane, and they can get items and recover their health, and there are four players playing at once instead of two at a time. This event takes place at Ocean Palace from Sonic Heroes. This event is used for the rematch for Eggman Nega.

Gameplay

Players have two minutes to deplete all of their opponent's health. Knocking a player off the stage causes massive damage. If someone is in danger of falling off, they can swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk (or swing the Wii Remote up and down, if playing with just a Wii Remote) to get themselves back on the stage. If someone gets knocked out, they can return as a bomb to attack the other players in a similar style to becoming a Mini Bomb Kart in Battle mode of Mario Kart 64. The game ends when there is only one player still standing. If there are two or more players still standing when the time is up, then the player with the most health left wins. Players can once again use Special Thrusts.

Occasionally Egg Pawns or Egg Flappers appear on the stage. Running into them deals damage to the player, but using a thrust they can knock them into other players, making them lose health.

Controls

Basics

Wii Remote + Nunchuk
  • Thrust: Thrust Wii Remote
  • Jumping thrust: B Button
  • Spin parry: A Button
  • Special Thrust: A Button + B Button

Perform a thrust while moving to do a charging thrust attack.

Wii Remote Held Sideways

  • Jumping thrust: Two Button
  • Spin parry: Swing Wii Remote
  • Special Thrust: One Button + Two Button

Perform a thrust while moving to do a charging thrust attack.

Tips

  • Knocking rivals off the stage causes big damage, so look for a chance to send them over the edge.
  • If you are in danger of falling off the stage, swing the Wii Remove and Nunchuck (Remote + Nunchuck) / up and down (horizontal) to regain your balance
  • After you're out of the game, you can return as a bomb balloon and pay your rivals a visit.

Tricks

  • Open Item Boxes to get items such as Health and Shields
  • Pick up Health items to restore your health. There are two types--big and small.
  • Pick up a Shield to bounce back any attack just once during a set time.
  • Grab a power core, and you power up automatically! Press A Button+B Button (Remote + Nunchuck) / One Button+Two Button (horizontal) together for a Special Thrust.
  • If you pass over bombs burried in the ground, they appear and explode. Try to run away as fast as you can.
  • Running into Egg Pawns and Egg Flappers causes damage, so watch out!
  • Or try to knock them into rivals with a thrust.
