Flipflaps[1], otherwise known as Bats[2] are a species of large bats that made their debut in Donkey Kong 64. In Donkey Kong 64, they were purple, but since DK: King of Swing, they are blue.

In Donkey Kong 64, Flipflaps are encountered in Fungi Forest and Creepy Castle. Zingers replace Flipflaps during daylight in Fungi Forest, and Flipflaps lack the ability to drop Oranges.
