Because they sleep, they are generally harmless, though Donkey Kong can be injured by running into them. During their sleep, their heads will tilt down, giving Donkey Kong a change to use his Sound Wave Attack to make the Kobukokko's comb pop out, stunning it for at least one second. Donkey Kong can then punch this fifteen times to defeat it, which will cause the enemy to explode and eight bananas to appear.
