The Zap Orb first appears in Mario Party 6, where players can place it only on a space as a roadblock. It costs fifteen coins by default at the Orb Shop. Opponents that pass a space containing the orb gets shocked by Zaps for five coins, and loses another five coins for every remaining space. In Mario Party 7, it is used again for the same purpose, but opponents lose only three coins per space, similar to landing on Red Spaces numerous times.
