The player first starts off at the starting line and must avoid rocks scattered among the road. Later, the player is riding on a mine cart on train tracks and occasionally goes through caverns. There is also another passageway where the player can go through without using a mine cart. Later, tornadoes appear and try to attack the player and twirl him or her around. Next, the player goes around a left curve with even more rocks that he or she must avoid.

Template:Racecourse Scorching Canyon is the first course of the Sapphire Cup in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast and it is set in a desert-like area with trains and mine carts. This course also has rocks scattered among the roads.
