The level begins near a bridge, where a [[DK Barrel]] that switches between the three Kongs can be found. Upon entering the hut on the right, a cutscene plays. It begins with the Kongs noticing a [[Banana Bunch]] below a wooden pole. When they try to grab it, a baboon swipes the bunch away. He then splits into the three members of Ba-Boom, all of whom promptly tease the Kongs, angering them and beginning the battle.

The three monkeys move quickly, often relying on their speed to attack. The Ba-Boom brothers' first attack consists of them swinging from ropes, with some of them swinging wielding toy hammers. They can also perform a rolling attack, though it renders them dizzy and vulnerable to attacks at the end of it. To defeat Ba-Boom, the Kongs must jump on them; however, they can only jump on Ba-Boom’s rear ends, as their helmets protect against jump attacks, unless they use [[Cranky Kong]]'s [[Cane Bounce]]. They can also be rolled into when they are on the ground.

After one of the Ba-Boom brothers takes three hits, the other two fully heal themselves, and they use a new attack: tossing [[Watermelon Fuse Bomb]]s. They can be spiky or green; the green watermelons can be thrown back at Ba-Boom to damage them.
