Toxic waste functions identically between both appearances. The level involves having to climb a tower as it gradually fills with toxic waste, while being transformed into multiple [[Animal Friends]]. If a player touches the toxic waste, they will take damage until they lose a life. In the [[Donkey Kong Country 2 (Game Boy Advance)|Game Boy Advance version]] of ''Donkey Kong Country 2'', a [[Funky's Flights (Bonus Game)|Funky's Flights]] level called [[Toxic Kongstruction]] has the [[Kong]]s swerving around in their [[Gyrocopter]] while collecting pieces of a golden statue of [[Donkey Kong]]. Many of the pieces are submerged in toxic waste, but shooting the buttons on the walls can temporarily lower the toxic waste so that the pieces can be collected.
