Course layout
Course layout
The course uses the same aesthetics as the Choco Island courses from Super Mario Kart, but has a completely different layout. Many Piranha Plants and ramps appear in this course. The ramps in this course resemble those from the Excitebike Arena course in Mario Kart 8, albeit with a darker texture. First, this track starts with some ramps and then a right turn with some Item Boxes, with a small ramp off to the side allowing for a shortcut. After the turn, there is a straight path with many huge ramps. Next, there is another right turn with a few ramps. On the next turn, there is a large ramp with two Pipes on it. After passing the large ramp, there is a left turn with some Item Boxes that leads to a section with some ramps and mud. Finally, the track ends with a straight turn to the left, with a ramp off to the side allowing for the turn to be cut off with a Mushroom.

In the reverse and trick variant, a gliding section which contains a Big Piranha Plant and many small Piranha Plants are added to the course. Some Mushroom Trampolines are also added to the course.

The course also appears as RMX Choco Island 1R (reversed), RMX Choco Island 1T (with ramps), and RMX Choco Island 1R/T (reversed with ramps). The former two debuted alongside the normal variant in the Flower Tour, while the latter debuted in the 2021 Trick Tour. In the R/T variant, racers glide over a gigantic Piranha Plant in a pipe and then drive across several mushroom trampolines.
