While he doesn't move, [[Lakitu]] and the basket will only appear if a character approaches the end of the court with the ball and only then if that basket is designated to that team. If one or more of these conditions are not met, Lakitu will not appear, preventing the player from scoring if they throw the ball from the other team's area.
