It was released on August 27, [[List of games by date#2014|2014]].<ref name="IGN"/> Unlike the other two downloadable content packs, this pack could be downloaded for free and consists entirely of vehicle parts; however, it was removed from the [[Wii U]] [[Nintendo eShop]] after its discontinuation on March 27, 2023, making it no longer possible for players to purchase the DLC pack, although players who purchased it before this date use the content. ==Contents==
The Mercedes-Benz × ''Mario Kart 8'' pack contains three new [[kart]]s and one new set of [[tire]]s, all of which are modeled after actual products manufactured by {{wp|Mercedes-Benz}}. Unlike ''The Legend of Zelda'' × ''Mario Kart 8'' and ''Animal Crossing'' × ''Mario Kart 8'', no new playable [[List of characters|characters]], [[cup]]s, courses, [[bike]]s, [[All-Terrain Vehicle|ATVs]], or [[glider]]s are included in the pack. All three of the vehicles contain unique engine sound noises, while only the GLA changes color in correspondence with the character driving. Unique to this pack is a small icon of the Mercedes-Benz logo that appears to the bottom right of each kart part image when the player is in the process of selecting kart parts before a race.
