The '''Halloween Tour''' was the eighty-first tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on October 19, 2022 and ended on November 1, 2022. It marked the first instance of four [[List of tours in Mario Kart Tour|tours]] sharing the same name. The tour was rerun from October 18, 2023 to October 31, 2023 as the hundred-and-seventh tour.

Complementing the Halloween theme of the tour, many Halloween-themed drivers returned as spotlights, while several ghost-themed tracks were introduced, including [[GBA Boo Lake|Boo Lake]] from ''[[Mario Kart: Super Circuit]]'' making its series debut as a [[classic course]]. [[SNES Donut Plains 3|Donut Plains 3]] from ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' also returned after appearing in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'', [[DS Twilight House|Twilight House]] from ''[[Mario Kart DS]]'' returned as a battle course, and the R/T variant of [[SNES Ghost Valley 2|Ghost Valley 2]] made its debut. The [[Streetle]] from ''Mario Kart 8'' and ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' returned as a kart in this tour, marking the first time any non-''Mario''-related content (including characters, karts, gliders, or courses) appears in the game, as the Streetle is designed after the beetles from the ''Animal Crossing'' series.

The Autumn Celebration event that started in the [[Battle Tour|previous tour]] continued into this tour. This tour introduced the second set of [[List of challenge cards in Mario Kart Tour|Autumn Challenges]] cards, which rewarded [[Captain Toad]] for completing all challenges on the card, in addition to finishing the Autumn Challenges 1 card from the previous tour. In addition, players could earn [[Petey Piranha|Petey Piranha (Gold)]], the newly introduced [[Red Vampire Flyer]] kart, and a gold pipe as part of reward for placing high in the ranked cups.

This was the first tour to feature a bonus challenge that had been featured in four other tours before this tour, being the [[Glider Challenge]] in the [[Peach Cup]], as well as the first tour to feature a [[Smash Small Dry Bones]] bonus challenge that takes place on a course's variant. This was also the first tour to debut a classic course alongside its R/T variant.

This tour's [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]] course was [[DS Luigi's Mansion]], which was reused from the [[Halloween Tour (2019)|2019 Halloween Tour]] and the [[Cooking Tour]]. The menu's background featured the mansion from GBA Boo Lake as the landmark for this tour.

==Today's Challenge==
Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in [[DS Luigi's Mansion|DS Luigi's Mansion T]] in the [[Mii Cup]] using the [[Mii|Dry Bones Mii Racing Suit]] for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.

This is notably the first tour to reuse a badge for the Today's Challenge, as the badge for this tour's Today's Challenge is reused from the [[Halloween Tour (2021)|2021 Halloween Tour]].
