The '''Battle Tour''' was the eightieth tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on October 5, 2022 and ended on October 18, 2022. It was rerun from October 4, 2023 to October 17, 2023 as the game's hundred-and-sixth tour overall and the first tour following the end of new in-game content.

As the tour's name indicates, it introduced [[Battle Mode]] as a new playable mode in both single-player and multiplayer, specifically [[Battle Mode#Balloon Battle|Balloon Battle]], with [[GBA Battle Course 1|Battle Course 1]] from ''[[Mario Kart: Super Circuit]]'' and [[GCN Cookie Land|Cookie Land]] from ''[[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]]'' being the first [[:Category:Battle courses|battle courses]]. However, due to a glitch that caused multiplayer levels to get lowered, multiplayer was unplayable throughout the tour's initial run in 2022. The tour was also heavily food-themed, introducing [[Luigi]] in a chef outfit and several food-themed karts and gliders. In addition to the new Battle Mode content, a new [[remix course]] based on the [[Donut Plains]] courses from ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' known as [[RMX Donut Plains 1]] debuted in this tour.

The Autumn Celebration event began in this tour. Like the Winter Celebration in the [[Wario vs. Waluigi Tour|Wario vs. Waluigi]], [[Los Angeles Tour (2022)|2022 Los Angeles]], and [[Sky Tour|Sky]] Tours, the event lasted for three tours, ending in the [[Autumn Tour (2022)|2022 Autumn Tour]]. This marked the first time a new event began immediately after a previous one had ended. In addition, players could earn the newly introduced [[Green Speeder]] and [[Toad (species)|Red Toad (Pit Crew)]] as a reward for placing high in the ranked cups.

Starting from this tour, the maximum player level has been increased to level 400, the maximum tier has been increased to 99, the maximum grade has been increased to S+9, the base-point cap for drivers, karts, and gliders has been increased, many items were added to the Daily Selects, and tour gifts now mainly contain free pipe launches. Premium Challenges++ have also been added to the game. The number of cups in each tour has also been raised to fifteen (making this the first tour since the [[Mario Bros. Tour]] sixty-eight tours prior to have more than twelve). Due to this, every race course in the tour had all four variants appear, making this the first tour to feature all four variants of every race course that appeared in it.

This was the first tour to not have the regular weekly pipes that could be fired by [[Ruby|rubies]] and contained spotlight items, which were replaced by the Spotlight Shop introduced in this tour, including the removal of the spotlight items in the regular weekly pipe being raised to a higher shelf in the second or third course of cups during their featured tour, making [[Mii|Mii Racing Suits]] the only ones that can be raised to a higher shelf. Due to the major changes, the tutorial for new players was also altered.

The eleventh set of [[List of challenge cards in Mario Kart Tour#Expert Challenges|Expert Challenges]] was made available at the start of this tour in 2022 and lasted until the end of the [[Holiday Tour (2022)|2022 Holiday Tour]].

A new bonus challenge called [[Precision Gliding]] debuted in this tour in 2022, in which the player glides through targets to earn points towards a larger target worth more points.

This tour's [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]] course was [[SNES Choco Island 1]], which was reused from the [[Peach vs. Daisy Tour]]. The menu's background featured the [[Yoshi Cookie]]s from Cookie Land as the landmark for this tour.

As of this tour's debut, a large number of drivers, karts, and gliders, including [[Kamek]], [[Tanooki Mario]], [[Princess Daisy|Daisy (Farmer)]], the [[Tropical Truck]], the [[Goo-Goo Buggy]], the [[Luigi Parafoil]], and the [[Rose Parasol]], are available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in [[SNES Choco Island 2|SNES Choco Island 2R]] in the [[Mii Cup]] using the [[Mii|Green Mii Racing Suit]] for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
