Plot Synopsis

Tired of Klump's failures, King K. Rool "degeneralizes" (demotes) Klump, and banishes him. Dixie Kong, who is very sad she lost her pet lobster Thermie, comes across Klump, equally sad and lonely. She decides to take Klump in with her and the other apes, but things did not work out. He constantly falls off the tree; when he tried to fix Cranky's barrels, he sent the old ape flying when the planks spring up; when he tried to fix DK's elevator, he busts it and sends the Kong bouncing up and down. Finally, Klump overheard the apes talking about how he was not working out and that they were going to tell him to leave in the morning. He did not fall off the tree this time, but it does him little good. He told Dixie that he does not belong and that she never should have trusted a lizard. Dixie becomes sad and lonely once more. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong overhear; growing sad about her predicament, and relieved that they were spared from telling Dixie the bad news themselves.

King K. Rool finds Klump and has him trick Dixie to get the coconut. The reinstated General Klump tipped Dixie off to false information that K. Rool and his toadies planned to blow up the barrel factory. DK, Cranky, and Diddy bolted to the factory, only to discover the "explosive" barrel that was supposed to destroy the whole factory was a dud. In the end, Klump helps Dixie keep the coconut safe, keeping his cover by having her scream and act like he's hurting her. The apes showed up and kick K. Rool, Klump, and Krusha out. Only Dixie knew the truth: that Klump was never after the coconut, only her friendship. She then discovers Thermie, with a note that misspelled thanks as "thanx", which convinced her it was Klump who found her pet. Dixie promised never to lose her lobster again, and even if she did, her fond memories of Klump would suffice. The episode ended with Klump crying in the background, off-screen.
