Plot Synopsis

When Funky decides to turn Funky's Flights into a restaurant, Bluster asks Candy to go on a dinner date with him, but she, Donkey Kong, Diddy and Funky all laugh at him, making him angry. Donkey Kong ask Candy out himself, but Diddy reminds he about the big games that night and DK reneges on the date with Candy, making her angry too. It turns out that Klump had been spying on the whole thing, and when he tells King K. Rool, he comes up with a plan to defeat Donkey Kong and steal the Crystal Coconut.

Bluster is next seen in Bluster's Barrelworks, combing his hair to make him irresistible to Candy, but when he sees a part of his hair in the comb, he becomes paranoid about going bald.

Later in DK's House, while Donkey Kong tells Diddy that he's not worried about his relationship with Candy, Krusha covertly comes and delivers a fake letter from Candy to DK, telling him that she no longer wants to be his girlfriend. When Diddy reads the letter to him, DK begind to cry, as the Kremlings had predicted: while the big ape is consumed in sorrow, they will attempt to steal the Crystal Coconut.

Meanwhile, Bluster had been making a mix with many hair tonics in the Barrelworks. He hesitates about using it at first, but upon seeing more hair falling off his head, he changes his mind and is transformed by the formula.

In the jungle, Donkey Kong and Diddy find Candy and DK discusses things with Candy. The three then see King K. Rool, Klump and Krusha in a Minecart taking the Crystal Coconut to King K. Rool's hideout, with Rool crowing "I'm the king of the world!". However, they are stopped by Bluster, who looks vastly different and is now calling himself "Leo Luster". Leo Luster sings a song that hypnotizes King K. Rool and then take the Crystal Coconut to Donkey Kong and Diddy. Candy swoons over Leo, making DK jealous.

The three Kremlings are next seen back in their hideout where Klump, who liked leo's song, sings it some more, until King K. Rool gets mad at him for reminding him of the loss of the Coconut.

While walking together in the jungle, Leo Luster asks Candy to a date at Funky's Restaurant. However, the formula's effects wear off and Bluster hides in a bush to hide his true identity from Candy. However, Klump had been spying on the Kongs once again, and did see that Bluster was Leo.

Donkey Kong wants to go at Funky's Restaurant, but Diddy does not think it is a good idea.

Back at Barrelworks, Bluster is being spied on by King K. Rool, Krusha and Klump while he tries to make his secret formula again. His new concoction renders him completely bald, however, and he tries adding more ingredients. Donkey Kong and Diddy come to the factory and knock on the door, forcing Bluster to try and hide his formula and barricade the door, so that they do not see him without hair. While he is distracted, the Kremlings break in and steal the formula. When Bluster discovers this, King K. Rool offers him a trade: he will return the formula is Bluster gives him the Crystal Coconut.

After giving up on seeing Bluster, the two Kongs go to Cranky's Treehouse, where Diddy watches TV and DK frets about candy being in love with another ape. Bluster then arrives and tells DK that Candy is waiting for him in Funky's Restaurant, saying he will take care of the Coconut for the big ape. Diddy thinks there is something odd about Bluster's story, but to no avail. Once the coast is clear, King K. Rool and his minions come to the Treehouse and trade the Coconut for the formula with Bluster, who runs off to the Barrelworks to use it again.

When DK and Diddy return to the Treehouse, they see that the Crystal Coconut is gone and think Bluster stole it.

Candy is in Funky's Restaurant, where she turns down his proffered "Banana Fish". Donkey Kong and Diddy then arrive, telling Funky and Candy that Bluster stole the Coconut. Leo Luster reappears and says he wants to reclaim it, and he and DK head off to King K. Rool's hideout. Diddy is too sick to go with them, having eaten the Banana Fish.

Donkey Kong and Leo Luster arrive at the entrance to King K. Rool's hideout, but are knocked out by a barrel thrown by Klump. When DK awakens, he finds that he is in a cage with Bluster (the effects of the formula having worn off), guarded by King K. Rool, Krusha and Klump. Donkey Kong tells Bluster that he needs to transform into Leo Luster again to get them out of there, but Bluster doesn't want to waste the last dose of the formula. Unfortunately, the formula container brakes, however Bluster then manages to transform to Leo Luster on his own, hypnotizing Krusha into opening the cage. Bluster soon returns to normal and Klump puts some sunglasses on King K. Rool so that he can't see that DK and Bluster are escaping, and that he has lost the Crystal Coconut once again.

At Funky's Restaurant, Bluster tells Candy that he's Leo Luster and she gets back together with Donkey Kong. However, when he unhappily comments that his team is losing in the big games, Candy gets angry with him again.

Lyrics

I'm Leo Luster
sung by Leo Luster

Hey, kids, the world just got cooler!
Stand back while I make the scene.
I'm the most, uh! And that ain't no boast,
I'm the swingin'est thing from coast to coast.
I'm a lizard's nightmare, I'm every girl's dream,
A picture of perfect, you know what I mean?
I'm Leo Luster (Pow)!
I'm where it's at, I'm a far-out happenin' cat!
Uh! I'm Leo Luster, baby I'm a trip.
Man it hurts to be this hip!

Cats, dig, it's time to get hip now.
Hop aboard it's a groovy ride.
Dig my threads, my shades and my hair; step aside, squares!
I'm a lizard's nightmare, I'm every girl's dream,
A picture of perfect, you know what I mean?
I'm Leo Luster (Pow)!
I'm where it's at, I'm a far-out happenin' cat!
I'm Leo Luster, baby I'm a trip.
Man it hurts to be this hip!

I'm Leo Luster, Baby, I'm Back!
sung by Leo Luster

I'm back, baby!
Hey, hah, it's good to be back here.
You're beautiful, and straight from the heart.
It's time, uh! To fly the coop now,
Destination, Splitsville, dad!
I'm better than ever, I'm top of my game,
Look in my eyes baby,
I'm never the same.

I'm Leo Luster, baby I'm back!
I'm still a happenin' cat, reow!
I'm Leo Luster, I've always had the stuff,
I'm that good you just can't get enough!
I'm Leo Luster, I'm an irresistible force!
I'm Leo Luster, I'm like a power jack, baby!
