A Rotatable Barrel.

A Rotatable Barrel is a type of Barrel that appears in the game, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, for the SNES and Game Boy Advance, as well as Donkey Kong Land for the original Game Boy. This kind of Barrel first appears in the level Barrel Bayou. Rotatable Barrels also appear in the sequel to Donkey Kong Land 2, Donkey Kong Land III.

Rotatable Barrels are similar to the Auto-Fire Barrel, although this type of Barrel can actually be rotated and fired in any direction. However, there is a limit (Which is indicated by a number that sometimes appears on the Barrel) for how long the Kongs can stay in the Barrel. After this limit, the Kongs will be launched automatically. In Donkey Kong Land 2 and Donkey Kong Land III, these barrels allow the monkeys to stay in them for as long as they want, but they still have complete control of the barrel.

It also makes a small appearance in Super Smash Bros. on the Jungle Japes level. It floats under the stage and can be used for a recovery if the player ejects at the correct trajectory. Also, similar barrels called Spinner Barrels made an appearance in DK: Jungle Climber. These barrels had no time limit.
