Punch Ball Mario Bros. is a game created by Hudson Soft for the PC-8801. It also ran on the PC-6001mkII, NEC PC-6601, FM-7, and Sharp X1. It was similar to Mario Bros., but added "punch balls" that could be thrown to knockout enemies. The details of the licensing of this game aren't clear, but Punch Ball Mario Bros. is probably one of the earliest licensed Mario games.
