The Great Ring of Kong is a location from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, where Mario fights Donkey Kong.
The Great Ring of Kong is an elliptical floating structure with a hole at the bottom. It features several objects from the Mario and Donkey Kong franchises and it is connected with bridges with two floating islands.
Role in film
Mario, Princess Peach, and Toad go to the Great Ring of Kong in order for them to possibly have the Kong army help them defeat Bowser, as part of their agreement with Cranky Kong. First, Mario must defeat Cranky's son, Donkey Kong, or the deal is off. Peach and Toad watch the fight from above the balcony while Cranky sits on his throne there. When DK walks into the stadium, he shows off his moves, getting the audience all excited before Cranky tells everyone to settle down.
The fights begins and Donkey easily overpowers Mario, even not allowing him a Fire Flower power up.
