Template:More images Template:Levelbox Crown Capture at Mushroom Ruins is the 2nd level of Special Episode in the Nintendo Switch version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It was released on March 14th for players who have purchased the Special Episode DLC. This level is the first to introduce the Crown Shard mechanic, and takes place in a lightly altered version of Episode 1 Prologue.

Layout

The level takes place in the same grassy ruins as the prologues for Episode 1 and 2. Atop the stone structure is the first Crown Shard. After collecting it, the next piece appears on a slanted brick beneath the former, the 3rd inside a crevasse in the middle of the level, the 4th on the wall of the highest structure, requiring the player to drop onto it from above, and the last on the stone pillar where the Golden Mushroom is located in the Episode 1 Prologue. After collecting the 5 Crown Shards, the Golden Crown appears at the entrance to the ruins. There's a hidden golden mushroom in the lower corner of the level that has a stone ground, near the poster displaying the Super Crown.

Super Gems

  • Super Gem 1: Only obtainable between the 2nd and 3rd Crown Shard, to the right of the latter.
  • Super Gem 2: Only obtainable between the 3rd and 4th Crown Shard, on top of the stone structure, to the left of the latter.
  • Super Gem 3: Only obtainable between the 4th and 5th Crown Shard, where the final Golden Crown will appear.

Bonus objective

  • Found the hidden Gold Mushroom
  • Target Time: 28 Seconds

Trivia

  • Although appearing 4 times along the game before this, this is the first visit to this location where neither Captain Toad or Toadette get kidnapped by Wingo after reaching their main objective.
