A Boost Star is an item in Super Mario Galaxy. It looks a bit like a rotating Sherrif's Star in mid-air, and when Mario walks up to it, then spins, (using the Wiimote,) he can boost at an ultimate speed from planet-to-planet using their powers that literally throw him off a world. They are first seen in the Star World, the first (known) level in Super Mario Galaxy.
