'''Bangkok Rush''' is a race course in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. It is based on {{wp|Bangkok}}, the capital city of {{wp|Thailand}}, and made its debut in the city's namesake tour, the [[Bangkok Tour]].

Like most other city courses in ''Mario Kart Tour'', this course has three routes; Bangkok Rush, '''Bangkok Rush 2''', and '''Bangkok Rush 3''', with the last two debuting together in the [[Winter Tour (2023)|2023 Winter Tour]]. The course visits various landmarks of the city it is based on, with the first route involving the {{wp|Chao Phraya River}} and {{wp|Maeklong Railway|Maeklong Railway Market}}, the second route taking racers through {{wp|The Esplanade (Bangkok)|Esplanade Ratchadaphisek}} and the {{wp|Talat Rotfai}}, and the third route featuring the {{wp|Giant Swing}} and {{wp|Democracy Monument}}. The first and second routes additionally feature the {{wp|BTS Skytrain}}, with [[Inky Piranha Plant]]s serving as obstacles underneath. The third route starts in the opposite direction compared to the other two.

Bangkok Rush returns as the first course of the [[Boomerang Cup]] in the ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]]'' for ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]''.

===Bangkok Rush===

In the standard layout, the course starts at the {{wp|Grand Palace}} beside a building with two elephant statues, with the {{wp|Wat Arun}} visible ahead. After a gradual left turn, the player briefly travels across the {{wp|Chao Phraya River}} with rowboats that can be [[Jump Boost|tricked]] off of. A sharp left turn follows, followed by a sharp right near the {{wp|Democracy Monument}}. Another sharp left brings the player through the {{wp|Maeklong Railway|Maeklong Railway Market}}, where the player can either go onto the stalls via wood planks or drive in the middle of some train tracks. After a gradual U-turn, the course goes underneath the elevated rail tracks of {{wp|BTS Skytrain}} surrounded by {{wp|King Power Mahanakhon}}, shopping malls that resemble {{wp|MBK Center}} and {{wp|Siam Paragon}}, and the {{wp|Giant Swing}}, with two [[Inky Piranha Plant]]s in the middle and several stationary vehicles to the sides of the track. The player can also go up some stairs to reach the Skytrain section. The course then takes a left S-curve next to the giant {{wp|Ganesha}} statue and the Phra Buddhasaiyas to the finish line.

The course also appears as '''Bangkok Rush R''' (reversed), '''Bangkok Rush T''' (with ramps), and '''Bangkok Rush R/T''' (reversed with ramps). In the R variant, there is an Inky Piranha Plant up on the Skytrain section, and there is a [[Glide Ramp|glide ramp]] where racers enter the river section. In the T variant, there are [[Water Geyser|water geysers]] erupting from the river, there are [[Rocky Wrench]]es on the lower part of the market section, and racers are forced to drive up to the Skytrain section before gliding to the finish line. In the R and R/T variants, there is an Inky Piranha Plant up on the Skytrain section. In the R variant, racers use a [[Glide Ramp|glide ramp]] to glide over the Train Night Market Ratchada. In the T variant, racers are forced to bounce on the tents, and are eventually forced onto the top of the Skytrain section. In the R/T variant, the [[Car (obstacle)|cars]] and Inky Piranha Plants under the railway are gone, part of the route is blocked off by fencing, and there is a glide ramp just before the finish line.

 

 

 

===Bangkok Rush 3===

This route starts in the opposite direction of the other two. Racers first make two right-angled left turns before driving on to a decorated street lined with stationary tuk-tuks. They then take a slight right to drive up a hill, before going off of a [[Glide Ramp|glide ramp]] and gliding either beneath, or around the {{wp|Giant Swing}} and {{wp|Democracy Monument}}. Additionally, racers can opt to drive around the landmarks using roads that circle around them. After that, they turn right to a road besides the {{wp|Chao Phraya River}}, where they can use stationary [[truck]]s with surfboards to bounce off of tuk-tuks, before making another final sharp right turn to the finish line.

The course also appears as '''Bangkok Rush 3R''' (reversed), '''Bangkok Rush 3T''' (with ramps), and '''Bangkok Rush 3R/T''' (reversed with ramps). In all three variants, the surfboard trucks are gone. In the T variant, there are [[Water Geyser|water geysers]] covered by potholes along the track, and the glide ramp is moved further down the track to the Democracy Monument. In the R/T variant, the gliding section is gone entirely.

Bangkok Rush returns in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' as part of Wave 4 of the ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]]''. It appears as the first course of the [[Boomerang Cup]]. It serves as an expanded and combined version of the three routes for the course. Similarly to {{classic-link|Tour|London Loop}}, the course is noticeably brighter and paler compared to how it appeared in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. It is also more foggy compared to the ''Tour'' version. The [[Inky Piranha Plant]]s below the {{wp|BTS Skytrain}} rails have been replaced with the ground [[Piranha Plant]]s in their ''[[Mario Kart 64]]'' design and functionality. The curbs at the beginning of the Bangkok Rush 2 route and at the end of the Bangkok Rush 3 route are no longer offroad.

In a similar manner to lap 2, lap 3 largely follows Bangkok Rush 2, but utilizes the opening portion of Bangkok Rush 3, as racers take two lefts underneath the BTS Skytrain rails and then a right to get back to the market street. They turn left and spiral through a parking garage, and afterwards have the option of bouncing atop or driving under the tents in {{wp|Talat Rotfai}}. Another right leads racers to the BTS Skytrain rails, and as with lap 1 they have the option of driving atop or below the rails, with all paths leading to a right turn before reaching the finish line.

Bangkok Rush is one of three courses from ''Mario Kart Tour'' to appear in the fourth wave, alongside {{classic-link|Tour|Amsterdam Drift}} and {{classic-link|Tour|Singapore Speedway}}. It is also the only city track from ''Tour'' to have teal arrow fields instead of red, and one of two courses in general with this distinction, the other being {{classic-link|N64|Kalimari Desert}}.
