- In a video presentation published by Nintendo on Mario Day, Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri announce that Illumination is producing another movie "based on the world of Super Mario Bros." planned to be released on April 3, 2026 in most markets. Further Super Mario-related announcements are made in the presentation: release dates for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch, as well as the addition of Dr. Mario, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis to the Game Boy - Nintendo Switch Online application.
