Appears in | Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Tour |
The Cucumber is a kart in the Mario Kart series. It resembles a green 1930s single-seater racing car or a sandrail. The emblem is located on the hood. The Classic Dragster and Zucchini from Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7, respectively, are similar to this kart.
History
Mario Kart DS
The Cucumber first appears as Yoshi's unlockable signature kart. It has low speed and drift and high acceleration, weight, handling, and items. Its weight is tied with the ROB-LGS.
The kart is unlocked for Yoshi when the player wins a gold trophy in all Nitro cups on 100cc. Luigi and Dry Bones can also use the kart once a gold trophy is won in all Nitro or Retro Grand Prix cups on 150cc, and it becomes available for everyone else when a gold trophy is obtained in every cup on 150cc Mirror Mode.
Mario Kart Tour
The Cucumber reappears in Mario Kart Tour. It was added in the Berlin Tour and is classified as a Super kart. It uses the Off-Road tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and its seat is now colored beige instead of brown. The Cucumber increases the duration of Slipstream boosts and provides more points upon performing a Slipstream.
The Cucumber has three variants: a Super kart called the Dasher II, and two High-End karts called the Iron Cucumber and Bronze Cucumber. The Cucumber was added after the Dasher II, making it one of the few karts that were introduced after variants of them were; the others being the Red Kiddie Kart and the Prancer, which debuted after the Green Kiddie Kart and the Gilded Prancer, respectively.
The Cucumber is available in regular tour pipes, and, as of the 2022 Mii Tour, it is part of the Daily Selects lineup. The table below lists special availability for this kart.
