Slow falling platforms[1] are bony lifts of varied length that appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They exclusively show up in World 8-Bowser's Castle. When the player lands on one, it shakes for a few moments and then slowly descends into the lava below. Slow falling platforms are the key obstacle of the lava-draining room before the midway point. They essentially act as the game's version of Flimsy Lifts.
