I feel like this sentence is a stretch to say the least. "Dixie" is a common name that any street or theater could have. If this mention really was referring to Dixie the character, than it would have a visual reference to her. I assume that's not the case though, right? I think it's pretty clear that it is meant to reference Dixie Kong, no matter how common the name Dixie can be or if there's a visual reference or not.
