History

Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS

In Super Mario 64, Snufits appear in the toxic maze of the Hazy Maze Cave and in the Cavern of the Metal Cap. When Mario comes close to one, it will shoot a burst of small bullets out of its mouth like a Snifit, although this action is preceded by briefly swelling up like a balloon before firing in Super Mario 64. Snufits can be defeated by jumping on them.

Snufits reappear in Super Mario 64 DS, behaving very similarly to previously. Unlike in the original version, their design was more faithful to the black-masked Snifits, save for the lack of legs and ability to float, which is the same in both versions of the game. Their shape was also more like the regular Snifit design, thus resembling a Boo Guy.

Mario Party 2

In Mario Party 2, on the Space Land board, the members of the Snifit Patrol are in fact Snufits, as proven by their speech icons. In Mario Party Superstars, they are replaced by ordinary Snifits.[3]
