Octoroks are purple octopus like enemies from the Legend of Zelda series. The player can encounter them in Super Smash Bros. Melee, as enemies in the Underground Maze in Adventure Mode. They attack by spitting rocks at the fighters. They also appear during about any type of melee mode hidden in carrier items along with ReDeads, Goombas, and other creatures found in Adventure Mode.
The Octolots and Octovaders from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars might be designed as a reference to Octoroks. Octoroks were also briefly parodied in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, which featured an almost identical species of monsters known as the Chuckoroks.
