The '''Piranha Plant Tour''' was the seventy-fourth tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on July 13, 2022 and ended on July 26, 2022. As the tour's name indicates, it featured numerous [[Piranha Plant]]-themed content, including [[3DS Piranha Plant Slide|Piranha Plant Slide]] from ''[[Mario Kart 7]]'' returning as a [[classic course]], [[Petey Piranha]] as a new driver (marking his first playable appearance in the ''[[Mario Kart (series)|Mario Kart]]'' series since ''[[Mario Kart: Double Dash!!]]'' almost 19 years prior, and leaving [[Koopa Paratroopa]] as the only character from that game to not return in later installments), a Petey Piranha-themed [[Mii|Mii Racing Suit]] released as part of Wave 10, the [[Piranha Pipes]] kart from ''Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'', and the new [[Piranha Plant Balloons]] glider. Additionally, most of the courses that have Piranha Plants in them, such as [[SNES Choco Island 2]] and [[GCN Yoshi Circuit]], were also included. The tour also took place during the 20th anniversary of ''[[Super Mario Sunshine]]'', Petey Piranha's debut game, in Japan, July 19.

Starting from this tour, with the exception of [[coin]]s, the bonus point boosts from glider [[Special skill (Mario Kart Tour)|special skills]] apply to items that appear in driver special skills, like the [[Lucky Seven]]. For example, if a player is to use a glider with the Mushroom Plus skill, the player will receive more bonus points from picking up [[Mushroom]]s shot out of a [[Mushroom Cannon]], instead of the point boost strictly applying to Mushrooms received in [[Item Box]]es.

This tour's [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]] course was SNES Choco Island 2. The menu's background featured the castle and some [[Warp Pipe]]s from Piranha Plant Slide as the landmarks for this tour.

Starting from this tour, the [[Sunny Surf Sailer]] kart is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

For unexplained reasons, despite posting a teaser image for the tour the Thursday before the tour started, the official ''Mario Kart Tour'' [https://twitter.com/mariokarttourEN Twitter account] did not post the trailers for the tour and the corresponding Mii Racing Suit on the Friday before the start of the tour like normal, instead posting it on the day of the tour itself. However, the trailers were viewable in the News section of the game itself on the Friday prior.

This was the final tour to introduce a new 3DS course.

==Today's Challenge==
Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in [[N64 Kalimari Desert|N64 Kalimari Desert R]] in the [[Mii Cup]] using the [[Mii|King Boo Mii Racing Suit]] for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
