Citadel on the Hill is a co-op challenge featured in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, accessed via the Buddydome/Rabbolatory. It is located in the Spooky Trails category, and is part of the "Unhappy Trails to you..." campaign. This challenge is unlocked after clearing Spooky Trails. The objective of this challenge is to escort both Toad and Toadette to their exits. Completion of this challenge unlocks the Thorny Situation challenge.

Description[edit]

Escort Toad and Toadette to safety - hint: it'll be an uphill climb (with lots of explosive cover points).

Layout[edit]

The battlefield is somewhat large and symmetrical. The shape of the battlefield bears a resemblance to an upside-down horseshoe, with high ground on the northern side and an area of lower elevation above the center. The center of the map is of normal elevation and has the two exits. Pipes connect to the different elevations. The heroes and the Toads start at the southwestern and southeastern areas, although one member of each team is with a member of the other team. Three Spooky Hoppers each begin at the east and west sides of the battlefield.

Battle[edit]

The heroes must escort both Toad and Toadette to their destinations to win. Team One controls Toad, while Team Tao controls Toadette. After one character reaches their goal, they will disappear. As the battle goes on, enemies will rise up from the ground at various locations on the battlefield. These enemies include Spooky Hoppers, Spooky Supporters and Spooky Peek-a-Boos. After both Toad and Toadette have reached their corresponding exits, the challenge is won.
