In Super Mario Strikers, the Bowser Cup can be unlocked by placing first in the Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup and Star Cup. In the Bowser Cup, there are eight teams competing. After seven rounds, the top four continue to the semifinals; if the player wins their way through the finals, they must play against the Super Team to win the Bowser Cup. Beating the Bowser Cup unlocks the Super Team as playable characters, also unlocking the Super Mushroom Cup and the Bowser Stadium. The Super Bowser Cup has a similar structure.

The Bowser Cup also appears in the Mario Kart series. In Mario Kart Arcade GP, Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 and Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, each version of the cup contains two courses based off of Bowser's Castle. It appears as the fifth cup in Mario Kart Arcade GP, the second master cup in Mario Kart Arcade GP 2, and the seventh cup in Mario Kart Arcade GP DX. The Bowser Cup returns in Mario Kart Tour, starting with the New York Tour, in which courses that are part of this cup are treated as Bowser's favored or favorite courses.
